Research Your Embassy/Consulate:
Before you begin your visa application process, it’s crucial to research the embassy or consulate where you’ll be applying. Each location may have different rules, office hours, and holiday schedules. Here’s how to get started:
1. Understand Variations: Thai embassies and consulates worldwide may have variations in visa application procedures and requirements. It’s essential to familiarize yourself with the specific guidelines of the embassy or consulate where you intend to apply.
2. Office Hours and Holidays: Take note of the office hours and holiday schedules of the embassy or consulate. This information will help you plan your visit accordingly and avoid any delays in the application process.
3. Thai Embassy Directory: For easy access to a comprehensive list of Thai embassies and consulates worldwide, visit the Thai Embassy Directory. This directory provides essential contact details and information about each embassy or consulate, including their location, contact information, and website.
By researching your embassy or consulate beforehand, you’ll be better prepared to navigate the visa application process smoothly and efficiently.
Check Passport:
- Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in Thailand.
- Check that your passport has at least one blank page for the visa stamp.
Visa Application Checklist for Students Outside Thailand
Here’s a handy checklist to guide you through the visa application process:
1) Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in Thailand, with one blank page for the visa.
2) Visa Application Form: Download the form from the embassy/consulate’s website. Complete and sign it accurately.
3) Passport-sized Photographs: Provide two recent photographs (4×6 cm) with a plain white background.
4) Proof of Enrollment: Ensure you have the following documents provided by the school:
- Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from New Stamford School
- Official letter from the Ministry of Education of Thailand
- Recommendation letter addressed to the Embassy/Consulate
5) School Documents: Ensure you have the following documents provided by the school:
- School’s license/curriculum
- School Director’s ID
6) Supporting Documents: Be prepared to submit any additional documents required by the specific Thai Embassy/Consulate.
7) Financial Statement: Provide a bank statement or letter of financial support demonstrating your ability to cover tuition fees and living expenses in Thailand. Some embassies/consulates may require documents covering a minimum period of six months, showing at least 20,000 Thai baht per person. Ensure your financial statement accurately reflects your current financial situation and displays sufficient funds to support yourself throughout your stay in Thailand. A comprehensive financial statement will strengthen your visa application and increase approval chances.

Step #1: 1-2 days
Apply for the course & make a deposit payment
After receiving the deposit equivalent to the first 3 months’ program fees, enrollment information, and supporting documents, we will issue an acceptance letter within 24-48 hours.
Step #2: 1 day
NS will prepare your MOE application
Please allow us 1 business day to complete and submit your application to the Ministry of Education. You will then receive an email requesting your electronic signature on the application and supporting documents.
Step #3: 7-14 days
Wait for the approved Letter of Acceptance (LOA)
The average wait time for the LOA to be returned from the Ministry of Education is 7-14 business days, depending on the number of applications submitted. We can provide an estimate of the wait time when we submit your application.
Step #4
Approved LOA and Visa Documentation
Once we have received your approved LOA, we will notify you immediately so that you can proceed with your education visa application. For those applying through the e-visa system, we will send your visa documentation via email, while those applying through the traditional visa system will receive it by post.
Step #5
Apply for your education visa
You can apply for an education visa (Non-Immigrant ED) at a Thai embassy or consulate of your choice. The visa application process could take 2-7 business days. Please check with the embassy/consulate for an estimate of how long the visa application process will take.
Step #6
Arrange your trip to Thailand
Once all documents are in order, you will be granted an initial 90-day education visa. You must travel to Thailand before the expiration of your visa, and once you arrive in Thailand, you must start your class within 30 days.
Step #7
Reporting to school and paying remaining fees upon arrival in Thailand
It is imperative that you report to our school within 7 days of entering Thailand. Additionally, you will be required to pay the remaining balance of your program fees upon your arrival in Thailand.
Step #8
Attend classes regularly
During the duration of your visa, it is essential to attend classes regularly and maintain a full-time student status.
Step #9
Extend your visa every 90 days
To extend your visa, you will need to go to immigration every 90 days and submit the necessary documents, including proof of attendance and scores to apply for an extension. Our school will remind you and arrange all the necessary visa extension documents for you.
Step #10
Enjoy your stay and learn Thai culture
