Terms of Service – New Stamford Translation Centre

Section 1: Scope of Services

1.1 Purpose

  • This agreement outlines the terms and conditions for translation and certification services.

  • Services include Thai official documents and general documents.

1.2 Pricing and Services

  • Listed prices apply to standard Thai official documents.

  • Custom pricing is applicable for non-standard documents or other languages, subject to document review.

1.3 Translation Standards

  • Translations strictly adhere to source documents.

  • Official document translation standards are followed.

  • No additions or omissions are made from the original documents.

  • Consultations with clients are conducted for any uncertainties.

1.4 Processing Time

  • Standard processing time: 3 working days.

  • Orders confirmed after 2:00 PM are processed from the next working day.

  • Express service (within 1 day):

    • Additional fee of 50-300 baht, depending on complexity.

    • Subject to availability.

1.5 Deliverables

  • Translation files are provided in PDF and Word formats.

  • Certified hardcopy delivery service is available for an additional fee.

  • Additional copy printing services are also available for an additional fee.

Section 2: Amendments and Cancellation

2.1 Amendments

  • Corrections can be made within 30 days of delivery.

  • Clients must verify the accuracy of translations, particularly numerical data.

  • Post-delivery amendment shipping costs are borne by the client.

2.2 Cancellation and Refund

  • Cancellations or refunds are not permitted after order confirmation and payment.

  • Pre-translation cancellations may incur processing fees.

Section 3: Translation Certification

3.1 Certification Scope

  • Certifies translation accuracy against the source document.

  • Does not certify the authenticity of the source document.

3.2 Document Usage

  • Advance notice is required for submission to other agencies or for foreign use.

  • Advance notice is also required for legal proceedings.

3.3 Court Appearances

  • The translator reserves the right to accept or decline witness requests.

  • Service rates:

    • Outside Chiang Mai: 6,000 baht/day plus travel and accommodation expenses.

    • Within Chiang Mai: 800 baht/hour.

Section 4: Confidentiality and Data

4.1 Confidentiality

  • Document confidentiality is strictly guaranteed.

  • Documents are deleted from the system 90 days after delivery.

  • Clients are advised to maintain file copies.

4.2 Data Management

  • Client data is used solely for service purposes.

  • Data is not disclosed to third parties, except as legally required.

Section 5: Legalisation Services

5.1 Self-Submission

  • Provision of Word and PDF files only.

  • Certification text includes the document owner’s name.

  • Clients must provide their name and contact details for certification.

5.2 Full Service

  • Service fee: 2,000 baht (includes duty and EMS delivery).

  • Consular fees: 400 baht/document:

    • Thai version: 200 baht.

    • English version: 200 baht.

Section 6: Liability Limitations

6.1 General Limitations

  • Translations are based solely on client-provided electronic copies.

  • Verification of source documents is not the responsibility of the centre.

  • The centre is not liable for document alterations, forgery, or unauthorised modifications.

6.2 Force Majeure

  • Clients will be notified of force majeure events.

  • Timelines will be adjusted accordingly.

6.3 Scope of Liability

  • The centre is not liable for issues arising from unclear source documents.

  • The centre is not liable for document rejection by end agencies.

  • Clients must verify translations before use.

  • The centre disclaims liability for consequences arising from the use of translations.

Section 7: Governing Law and Jurisdiction

7.1 Governing Law

  • This agreement is governed by Thai law.

7.2 Jurisdiction

  • Chiang Mai courts have jurisdiction over this agreement.

Section 8: Relevant Legal Provisions

8.1 Thai Criminal Code Chapter 3: Document-Related Offences

Section 264 Document Forgery:

  • Creating false documents wholly or partially.

  • Adding or removing content.

  • Modifying authentic documents.

  • Using false seals or signatures.

  • Penalty: Up to 3 years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of 60,000 baht.

Section 265 Official Document Forgery:

  • Forging rights documents or official documents.

  • Penalty: 6 months to 5 years’ imprisonment and a fine of 10,000-100,000 baht.
